Keptio ("the app") is a private note-keeping app that lets you send notes, photos, videos, voice recordings and files to yourself, and move them between your own devices. This policy explains what happens to your information.
All of your notes and attachments are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to any server as part of normal use. If you uninstall the app without making a backup, that data is permanently lost.
If you choose to link another device (for example a laptop), the data you transfer is encrypted on your device before it leaves it, using a key that only your paired devices hold. It passes through a relay service (Supabase) purely to reach the other device. Because it is encrypted end-to-end:
You may create a backup file. It is encrypted with a passphrase that you choose and that only you know. We never receive that passphrase or the backup file. If you lose the passphrase, the backup cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. You decide where to store the backup (for example your own cloud drive or computer).
Each permission is used only for the feature described, and only when you use that feature.
The app is currently free. If paid features are introduced in future, payments will be processed by Google Play or Apple, under their own terms. We do not receive or store your card details.
Keptio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Because your data stays on your device and we cannot access it, you remain fully in control. You can delete any note, folder, or the entire app at any time, which removes the data from your device.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the date above.
